AMALA Clean Energy Advisors (AMALA) is sponsoring the GeoLAC Geothermal Congress in Latin America and the Caribbean, to be held on December 4-5, 2024, in El Salvador. GeoLAC is a major yearly gathering of geothermal stakeholders in the region including governments, geothermal developers, financial institutions among others. It is an event where good practices and international experiences are exchanges enriching the overall geothermal development community in the region.
AMALA, due to its extensive work in support of geothermal development around the world, decided to formally sponsor the event this year. However, members of the AMALA team have a long history of supporting the event. AMALA’s Managing Director. Migara Jayawardena, was responsible for the World Bank to co-host the event, together with New Energy Events, from its inception. The World Bank continues to co-host the event, and has been more recently joined by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
AMALA’s Managing Director and Geothermal Specialist will both be in attendance at the event. According to Mr. Jayawardena, “AMALA hopes to share some of the regional and global work it has been carrying out in the geothermal space during the event”.
